New Years Day, 2012. For the last number of years I have tried to get out to capture shots on January 1st. Today was no different. It was warm, but very windy and cloudy. There was some rain, but not much. I was hoping that the direction of the wind would be off of the lake so that there would be a spectacular display of breaking waves up against the break water. But the winds had not shifted to the south yet. However, there was some chop on the water, and I got some drops of rain on the lens because of the winds. Photoshop took care of those. A bit of OnOne's Photo Tools to give some contrast and depth to the shot and we have a dark lake capture. (January 2012)
