Last evening I was hoping to catch a few shots of Christma lights. My usual spot does not "light-up" until December 1st, so I found out. Made my way down to the lake so as not to waist the evening. I was able to get a few good shots, all done with my 70mm - 300mm lens at very slow shutter speeds. Here are the shots.
Spencer Smith Park walkway. Looking east at an empty walkway all decked out with the street lights. Changed it to a B & W shot, then used some of my enhancing filters to give it an eriee desolate look. This was a 25 second shot.
The next was a shot of the Burlington Bay skyway. The water was dead calm so I was able to catch a lot of reflection. Again a long exposure so the car lights are streaks. I love it when the water is like glass. This is a 6 expose shot, overlaid.
The final photo was my attempt to catch the Moon, Venus and of course the clouds. The clouds won out. By the time Venus had emerged from the clouds, the moon had risen too far. I settled on just a Mood shot, with the clouds the colour of the reflected lights from the lake. (November 2012)
