Severe Weather

This was the view out of my window on the return flight from Cancun.  Little did I know that these pretty white fluffy clouds would cause so much trouble for me and the many other travelers.

Above the clouds the weather was great, but as we approached Chicago O'Hare airport, the picture really changed.  In actuality, we were the last flight that was allowed to land that evening and ended up with a four hour wait on a taxiway, in the aircraft, because the airport had shut down due to the severe thunder storms and nothing was allowed to move.

37 hours later I was safe and sound back at home.  I will not forget this experience for a while.  (May 2014)
