Last year I posted an older shot of some deer that I captured. When I shot that one I was really not prepared. This time I was. I saw the deer, there seemed to 4 or 5 grazing in the area, and set up the tripod that I now always carry with me in the cargo space.....very carefully. Using my 70mm - 300mm, I wish I would have had a 500mm, I carefully zoomed in on the spot.....and waited. Finally a male came into view and I was lucky that he had his head up, and I was able to quickly adjust the camera position to capture the shot.....did I say I wish I had a 500mm. This shot was much better than the last one because of the tripod. Did some creative cropping and some sharpening and toned down the green to natural looking colour, making this a pretty good shot. (June 2012)....did I say that I wish I had a 500mm.......?????
