Star Trails
So far in my learning curve for AstroPhotography, I have learned how to shoot the moon. Last night was my second attempt at getting a good shot of the stars. Thanks to Darryl Van Gaal, my mentor on Google+ for helping me figure all of this out.... Since I was in the business a long time ago, I knew where to look for the North star. I made sure all of the tripod controls were tight and then I started to shoot. Each shot was a 30 second exposure at ISO 250, and f5.6. I used my 18mm - 70mm lens on full wide angle. There are 25 shots in this grouping. As you can see traffic in and out of Toronto airport was captured in a few of the frames. I was lucky that there were only 2. One arrival and one departure. The shots were "stacked" with software called StarStax to get the trail effect. This was a lot of fun, albeit that it was midnight when I arrived back home. (June 2012)
